Keyword research

What’s keyword research for?
It helps you find opportunities. Starting from a topic or a page, it surfaces the searches your customers actually type, with their volume, competition and estimated cost. The data comes from Google’s Keyword Planner. It’s the tool for filling your campaigns with good keywords.
How do I research keywords?
Enter one or more seed keywords (we recommend 10 at most), or paste the URL of a page to analyze, then click “Search”. You can start from a topic, a page or both. Google then comes up with related ideas.
Can I target a specific language and country?
Yes. Choose the language and country before you run the search to get volumes for your area. French and France are selected by default. It matters, because national volumes can be misleading for a local business.
What do the columns in the keyword results mean?
For each idea, you see the average monthly search volume, the competition level (low, medium or high) and an estimated cost-per-click range. Go for keywords with strong intent and low competition first. Results are sorted by volume.
How do I get the keywords I found into Google Ads?
The “Copy” button copies all the keywords to your clipboard, ready to paste. Choose the format for the match type you want: broad, phrase in quotes or exact in brackets. Then just paste them into your campaign.
Why are the volumes sometimes different from Keyword Planner?
The volumes come from Google Ads data and can differ slightly from what Keyword Planner shows. Its interface rounds volumes into ranges and smooths them over twelve months, while the value shown here is more precise. That’s normal: the numbers don’t contradict each other.
Do I need a connected account to research keywords?
Yes. Select a Google Ads account at the top before you run a search. If no account is connected yet, add one from “Ad accounts”. The research is based on the selected account.
